Cover printed with black text "CATALOG NO. 17 / JULY, 1940 / BURTON Upholstery CO., INC. / [depiction of building] / Fine Living Room Furniture / HIGH POINT, NORTH CAROLINA". Written in pencil in upper right corner is "Polly Payne". Contains black and white photographs of sofas and armchairs, each labeled with product number and dimensions. Also contains two pages of armchairs, rocking chairs, and benches sold by Hendrix Sales Agency, Inc. with note "The office and show room of Hendrix Sales Agency is located at the Burton Upholstery Co. While the two firms are separate corporations their association is very close." Penciled notes are written throughout the catalog - these seem to refer to fabrics and other custom options.
